“In the calmly lap of the nature, being enrounded by clusters of villages and forest, U.N. college, Nalagaja in the district of Mayurbhanj is a beacon of hope, aspirations and enlightment for both the students studying in this institution and the education-loving public acting as its well-wishers and patrons. The Alma mater is named after Late Upendra Nath Giri who was its founder and notable for his beneficial activities and uncommon hegemony for the people of this region to uplift it socially and culturally. Established in 1976, this institution has aimed at not only the development of the pupils in the sphere of education but also the wider extension of scopes for their intellectual and moral enrichment. However, most of the Faculty Members here are Ph.D Degree Holders and NET\/JRF qualified and they possess extraordinary ability to guide the pupils in the proper direction, acting as their paramount inspirers having round-the-clock attention to provide excellent fields for the exposure of their inner talent. Every year, the deep study of the +2 and +3 students of the college brings them satisfactory results though most of them belong to the tribal community. It must be noted that at the +3 level, both Science and Arts stream have Honours in different subjects. Apart from this, the NCC, NSS & YRC invite name and fame for the college. The institution has also taken decision to open PG Courses in different Subjects of both Science and Arts shortly with due permission from the Government.
