OVERVIEW:

History:-

The department of education was established in the year 1980 with permission of 128 seats (Pass in degree stage) and extension of more 64 seats at later stage. During the academic session 1992-93 the government was pleased to accord opening permission of 32 Hons seats. In the premiere college it was also a premiere department in the district of Mayurbhanj, which was initially led by Dr. Prakash Chandra Mohapatra, HOD and Mr. Samarendra Nath Dutta associate Lecturer. In course of time Mrs Anjali Mohanty joined in the department in 3^rd post. Presently Mrs Anjali Mohanty is working as HOD and Mr. Balaram Singh (SSB) and Dr. Sankar Charan Mohanty (SSB) are working as lecturers in the department. The department used to perform very excellent result in university exam, giving rise to rank/position in university lebel at times.

Role:-

The purpose of higher education is to foster democracy. This means that it should help the students develop critical thinking skills and cultivate values and attitudes that encourage social responsibility and civic angagement.
